WEB Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Election Updates Press Conference by Election Commission of India

WEB आम चनव 2024- मखय नरवचन आयकत रजव

WEB General elections were held in India from 19 April to 1 June 2024 in seven phases to elect all 543 members of the Lok Sabha. The votes are being counted. It's the day India has been waiting for after more than six weeks of voting across the world's largest democracy.

WEB General Election 2024 Voting Phases

Phase 1: April 19

  • States and Union Territories: Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Sikkim, Tripura, Telangana, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Lakshadweep
  • Lok Sabha Constituencies: 91

Phase 2: April 23

  • States and Union Territories: Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Telangana, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Puducherry
  • Lok Sabha Constituencies: 97

Phase 3: April 30

  • States and Union Territories: Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu
  • Lok Sabha Constituencies: 115

Phase 4: May 7

  • States and Union Territories: Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal

  • Lok Sabha Constituencies: 59

The outcome of the election is still uncertain, but the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is widely expected to win the most seats. The BJP won a paltry 29 of the 129 parliamentary seats in India's five southern states in the last general election in 2019. However, the party has since made significant gains in the region, and it is now expected to win a majority of the seats in several southern states.
